Airport Mtaani Terms & Conditions


1. Binding Nature

  • By using the services or platform, you agree to these terms and related policies (e.g.,
    Privacy Policy).
  • Definitions for terms like “Booking,” “Pick-up Point,” “Delivery,” etc. are specified in Section 1.2.

2. Bookings

  • Bookings can be made online or by phone.
  • A booking is confirmed only when you receive a confirmation email.
  • Airport Mtaani may cancel or decline bookings at their discretion.
  •  If luggage details (e.g. quantity) do not match the booking, service may be refused or cancelled.

3. Fees & Payment

  • You’ll be notified of the applicable fees before confirming your booking.
  • Payment methods include phone, email, SMS, or WhatsApp confirmations.

4. Customer Responsibilities you must:

  • Be on time at Pick-up/Drop-off.
  • Ensure luggage is closed and under 32 kg (or your airline’s limit).
  • Do not include Prohibited Items.
  • Ensure third-party representatives (e.g., hotel staff) are authorized to handle your luggage.
  • Maintain travel insurance.
  • Be available as required, or you may forfeit your payment or incur storage/re-delivery
    fees.

5. Company Responsibilities

  • Will use reasonable effort to perform pick-ups and deliveries on time.
  • Not liable for delays due to Force Majeure or airport restrictions.
  • Will not open luggage unless required by law or consented.

6. Off-Airport Luggage Pick-Up Service

  • Available only for Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO)and Wilson (WIL).
  • All passengers must be present with ID and passports at pick-up.
  • Responsibility ends once luggage is handed to the airline.
  • If passengers fail to meet conditions (e.g., show up late), no refunds will be given.
  • If the fault is on the service provider’s side, a refund will be made without other related
    expenses.

7. Land and Leave Delivery Service

  • Luggage must be received from the airline and pass customs clearance.
  • If a bag is missing/delayed/damaged, it is the airline’s responsibility until Airport Mtaani receives it.
  • Customs may inspect bags; you must authorize this.

8. Amendments and Cancellation

  • You can amend/cancel bookings:
    o 6 hours before the Pick-up or Collection Period for a 80% refund.
    o No refund if cancelled late or if the luggage is already in possession of AirportMtaani.
  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 14 days.

9. Failure to Collect or Pay

  • Uncollected luggage incurs KES 1,500/night storage and an applicable redelivery fee.
  • After 30 days, unclaimed luggage is deemed abandoned.

 10. Liability

  • Liability limited to KES 40,000 per bag.
  • Max of KES 10,000 per item.
  • No liability for luggage damaged while in the custody of the airline.
  • Hala Nairobi (Airport Mtaani) will bear no liability for any indirect, incidental, or associated costs arising from issues related to luggage handling.
  • Claims must be made within 5 days of receiving our service with documentation.
    Once luggage is handed to the airline (off-airport luggage pick-up), liability shifts to the
    airline.

11. Data Privacy

  • User data is stored for one year.
  • Deletion requests can be sent to hala1@airportmtaani.co.ke.
  • Users making bookings for others must ensure they consent to data usage.

13. General Legal Terms

  • Airport Mtaani can update these terms at any time.
  • Services are governed by Kenyan law, and disputes fall under Kenyan court jurisdiction.
  • Only the English version of the Terms is binding.
